October 12. and 13. was the "National Wine Holiday". Moldova shows it´s wines to visitors from all over the world. Unfortunately there was not so nice weather this year.

This caterpillar tractor and plough belongs to a farmer in Voinova. After the Kolchos closed down, he bought the machinery and started to work on own land. He is doing quite successful on his 7 hectars.

Our "landlady" Mrs. Serafima showed us how to prepare traditional Moldovan "Mameliga", what we know as "Polenta". It is made in a special pot with round shape bottom. Mameliga is one of the most important food in Moldova.

Lutz tries to say hello to a nice goat near the village of Podoima in the Camenca district.

Goats and pigs are also kept by teachers and other people working in public sector because it is nearly impossible to buy all things needed from the small salleries they get.

In Camenca we visited a Sanatorium, that was founded by the Russian - German General "von Wistinghausen" (Zarist army) in the beginning of the 19th century.

The Ethno Jazz Festival takes place in the glamorous Mihai Eminescu Theater. A big cultural event for Chisinau. It is also a who is who of Chisinau´s high society.

In Comrat old women sell some milk from their goats and vegetables from their garden beside the road. It is a very small additional income besides the low pensions from which one can not survive.

At the State Agrarian University we got the possibility to discuss with students about organic agriculture and other things they are intersted in.

In Balti (second biggest city of Moldova) we visited the Plant Breeding Institut. We were taken to the experimental plots in the old Wolga. with driver!
